Introduction
Australia's acquisition of conventionally-armed, nuclear-powered submarines is historic and transformational. The Optimal Pathway announced on 14 March 2023, will deliver Australia a world- class capability that will see our nation become one of only seven countries that operate nuclear- powered submarines. This game changing capability will enhance Australia's capacity to deter conflict and support security, peace and economic prosperity in the Indo-Pacific.This significant undertaking presents an exciting opportunity for dedicated, committed and aspirational leaders to lead, develop and shape the Australian Nuclear-Powered Submarine (NPS) Program.
Your Role
As a Program Executive Officer (PEO), you will be accountable for the delivery of Australia's nuclear-powered submarine capability. This includes acquisition of Virginia Class and build of SSN-AUKUS platforms, as well as delivery of sustainment and supporting systems. You will provide enterprise-level leadership across the NPS program, aligning program objectives with strategic government and defence priorities. Working closely with national and industry stakeholders, you will ensure program execution meets Australia's security, safety, regulatory, budgetary, and capability requirements. Reporting directly to the Director-General of the Australian Submarine Agency (ASA), this senior leadership role will be pivotal in guiding the most complex and consequential Defence program Australia has ever undertaken.
