About the Role
This is a Full Time Fixed Term (Parental Leave) position within the social work department until November 2025. In this role you will be responsible for providing social and emotional assessment, support and intervention for infants, children and families where issues are identified as impacting on quality of life and outcomes for the child.
What You'll Achieve
* Provide high quality clinical care to children and families presenting to RCH with a broad range of complex medical and psychosocial needs
* Contribute to timely decision making, transition or discharge planning and referral to community providers
* Support and counselling for vulnerable children and families in crisis situations including trauma, family violence, grief and loss
* Engage in quality improvement to enhance existing Social Work services to patients and families
Classification
Classification for this position will range from SC21 - SC24 Grade 2 Year 1 to Grade 2 Year 4 (FTE base salary $88,467.60 to $101,691.20 per annum, plus superannuation).
Your Skills and Experience
* Social Work Degree from an accredited University/Course
* Eligibility for membership of AASW and meet AASW CPE accreditation standards
* Clinical experience recognised in related field of practice
* Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Other requirements
* Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
* Valid Working with Children Check
* Compliance with RCHs "Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases" procedure
