The Australian Sports Commission is embarking on the Green and Gold decade. An exciting time filled with international sporting competitions on home soil, including the Men’s and Women’s Rugby World Cup, and culminating in the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We have an ambitious new Strategic Vision and we need the best players on our team to help us deliver real results for the sporting sector and all Australians.

Are you up for the challenge?

About the team – The Sport Learning team is responsible for the Australian Sport Learning Centre (Learning Centre) growth and delivery internally and externally. The Learning Centre delivers sector-wide learning and development outcomes by centralising and syndicating learning activities, including Learning Management Solution (LMS) and online learning content. Recognised National Sporting Organisations and National Sporting Organisations for People with Disability (NSOs/NSODs) can join the Learning Centre as subtenants, creating a fully branded one stop shop for all learning, including online and face to face activities. We exist to develop a thriving and sustainable learning and development culture, enabling the ASC, including AIS, and NSOs/NSODs to bring their best possible learning and development experiences to life. We use technology to create a strong value proposition and efficiencies through scalable and repeatable solutions that deliver relevant products and services that make a positive and strategic impact to Australian sport.

Teamwork is incredibly important to us, and we thrive on delivering outcomes that make a difference and leave a positive legacy.

About the role – We are seeking a talented and skilled eLearning professional who will embrace and grow our positive team culture, whilst demonstrating a can-do attitude towards co-design, engagement and delivery. You will demonstrate skills, experience and a keen interest in online learning and development with considerable experience in instructional design, end-to-end eLearning development and delivery, and a customer-centred focus. The secret to our success is simple - we seek people who are exceptional at their craft and ready to stretch for success.

About you – We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer with complimentary LMS administration experience and a proven ability to translate complex content into clear, structured and engaging learning experiences aligned to learning outcomes.

You will have excellent interpersonal and communication approaches, and an ability to prioritise daily, weekly and fortnightly tasks in a fast-paced multi-faceted role.

* Relevant tertiary and/or professional qualifications in online Instructional Design or related field. Excellent knowledge of L&D practices and adult education principles.
* Minimum 5 years of industry experience designing eLearning courses within government, sport, education or other large and complex organisations.
* Demonstrated experience and sound technical skills with current eLearning technologies and a variety of authoring tools.
* Demonstrated stakeholder and Subject Matter Expert (SME) engagement and collaboration skills are essential, along with an excellent knowledge of L&D practices and adult education principles.
* Demonstrated communication, interpersonal and liaison skills with a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with others.
* Demonstrated understanding of mandatory accessibility guidelines (WCAG requirements) and how they apply to an interactive eLearning environment is highly desired.
* Demonstrated understanding of project management methodologies, preferably within an instructional or learning design solution.
* Experience using the Evolve content authoring tool and/or Totara (or Moodle) LMS administration/course building experience is highly regarded.
