Lead Instrumentation and Control Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Engineer to spearhead our tendering efforts for large-scale water projects.
This role is crucial in ensuring operational excellence, client satisfaction, and long-term asset performance while adding strategic tenders and future project delivery across the South Australia region.
Job Description
* Lead I&C design strategy and execution for tender submissions.
* Guide bid teams in defining technical approaches aligned with client goals.
* Lead the preparation of technical documents, drawings, and procurement specifications.
* Present and defend D&C cost estimates to ensure competitive and accurate proposals.
* Oversee digital documentation, including drawing registers and change requests.
* Champion technical innovation to enhance bid competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with procurement teams to define scope and tendering requirements.
* Direct vendor selection processes and lead RFQ preparation for I&C equipment.
* Represent the technical team in discussions with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
* Develop tender service agreements with clear technical clauses.
* Conduct site visits and lead technical meetings to inform the tender strategy.
Project Delivery Leadership
* Transition from tender to project delivery teams.
* Provide senior-level technical support during procurement, construction, and commissioning.
* Resolve technical issues and ensure adherence to design intent and specifications.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement
* Communicate with clients and project partners throughout the tendering process.
* Present technical documents and discuss with stakeholders.
* Build strong client relationships to support future collaboration.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or chemical engineering.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in technical tendering or leadership roles.
* Extensive knowledge of I&C and SCADA systems.
* Proven leadership in preparing technical tender documents and cost estimates.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Deep understanding of procurement processes and vendor coordination.
* Ability to lead under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Willingness to travel as required.
* Spanish language skills are a plus but not essential.
* Experience leading digital engineering platforms.
* Prior leadership in I&C tendering for desalination or water treatment projects.
