The role:
Join our Maintenance team as a Diesel Fitter at Tassal's Proserpine Prawn Farm, where you'll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll work as part of our skilled maintenance team to ensure the reliability of our heavy machinery and equipment in this dynamic, hands-on role perfect for proactive tradespeople who enjoy both independent problem-solving and team collaboration.
You'll work a 2/2/3 roster (12-hour shifts) with a built-in long weekend every other week, giving you unbeatable work-life balance to enjoy the stunning Whitsundays region. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing our heavy machinery fleet (Caterpillar equipment, pumps and vehicles), troubleshooting mechanical issues to minimize downtime, following strict safety and compliance standards, and participating in an on-call rotation as needed to support operations.

Responsibilities:
1. Perform maintenance and repairs on our operational fleet, including:
* Heavy Caterpillar machinery (dozers, excavators, loaders)
* Auxiliary equipment (pumps, generators, aerators)
* Light vehicles (utes, trucks)
* Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs efficiently
* Follow strict safety procedures – zero harm culture
* Identify and escalate risks to minimise operational downtime
* Complete work orders and documentation accurately
Role requirements:
* Trade qualification (Diesel Fitter or Motor Mechanic)
* Experience working with heavy machinery (advantageous)
* Strong problem-solving skills and can diagnose and fix issues
* Good communication and can to report issues clearly
* Reliable and safety-focused
* A current driver's licence.
* Full-time working rights in Australia.
