The Peri-Operative Services Department at Bowral and District Hospital is seeking a dedicated, hardworking and enthusiastic Enrolled Nurse to join their Day Surgery team for a temporary 12 month Maternity Leave role with the possibility of part‑time extension.
We are looking for someone who thrives in a team environment and has a personable outlook to their work. The ideal candidate will be someone who is flexible and dynamic in their skills, and who has previous strong clinical experience in either Day Surgery or Surgical ward nursing. The team you will be joining is highly supportive and is dedicated to investing in your growth and development while working closely with the Theatre and Recovery teams to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing
The Enrolled Nurse works with the registered nurse or midwife as part of the health care team and demonstrates competence in the provision of safe, compassionate, quality person‑centered care. You will welcome patients into our department, preparing them for surgery and caring for them post‑operatively through to a safe and successful discharge.

Bowral & District Hospital is situated in the beautiful Southern Highlands and encompasses the southernmost part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District. The hospital boasts a 5‑year‑old Perioperative Department and clinical services building which was completed in 2020, providing service to the local community and a strong learning environment for clinical staff. Ample free parking is available on surrounding streets with only a short walk to the hospital and a bustling town centre nearby.
Our Perioperative Department is proud to have a positive and dynamic team culture, working closely with patients and the community to ensure a safe and positive consumer experience, whilst also empowering staff to grow and achieve their full potential. - Current Authority to Practice as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2), General with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated recent experience as an Enrolled Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidence‑based nursing care.
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
