Our client is a well-established and growing business that is looking for a part-time Accounts Officer to manage core transactional finance activities. This role suits someone with a strong background in bookkeeping who enjoys working independently, keeping processes running smoothly and being the reliable point of contact for accounts. The position is temporary to start, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.
What you'll be doing
Processing accounts payable invoices in Xero
Maintaining supplier records and managing invoice workflows
Allocating customer payments and managing accounts receivable
Daily bank reconciliations and general ledger support
Matching purchase orders, goods received notes and invoices
Assisting with month-end checks and basic reporting
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiency
What you'll bring
3+ years' experience in accounts payable/receivable or a similar finance role
Strong attention to detail and good organisation
Working knowledge of GST and AP/AR processes
Relevant qualification (Cert IV or Diploma in Accounting/Bookkeeping) will be highly regarded
Experience with EDI or inventory-based environments is a bonus
Availability to work 2-3 days per week, with flexibility to alternate working days for end of month reconciliations.
