The Role:
Location: Mount Barker SA
Duration: 24-month Traineeship
As a Library Services Trainee, you will work in a small team, providing high level customer service to the community through quality library services.
Under the guidance of experienced mentors, your responsibilities will include:
* Assist library customers at the Service Desk
* Provide support to customers in the use of library technology and online resources
* Assist with maintaining the condition of library collections
* Generate, print and action the daily on shelf report for customers
* Contribute to a cohesive, supportive and efficient library team
* Participate in special library projects as required
About You:
To be successful in this Traineeship, you will need:
* Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
* Ability to build rapport with a variety of individuals
* A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills
* Physically capable of performing tasks such as standing for extended periods or kneeling when required
Role Requirements:
* Driver's licence and access to reliable vehicle
* National Police Check and Working with Children Clearance (or willing to obtain)
* Able to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment medical assessment
* Strong computer and typing skills, including Microsoft Office
* Previous experience in customer service and/or administration (desirable)
