You'll be part of our national engineering team, with the opportunity to support projects at other locations from time to time.The sweet things you'll be involved in:As the Capital Project Engineer - Northern Loop, you'll take ownership of delivering our capital program across our Northern Loop sites. From concept to commissioning, you'll ensure projects meet operational, reliability, safety, and quality standards - on time and on budget. Working closely with site and national teams, you'll bring strong engineering know-how and project management skills to ensure solutions are fit-for-purpose and aligned with our long-term business strategy.What you'll be doing:Leading the end-to-end delivery of capital projects across our Northern Loop operations (Racecourse and Mackay Port), from concept to commissioning.Managing annual and long-term capital plans to ensure projects align with business strategy, safety, and sustainability objectives.Providing hands-on technical support and ensuring seamless integration of projects with operational and reliability needs.Overseeing contractors and multi-disciplinary project teams to deliver work safely, on time, on budget, and to specification.Leading a strong safety culture by ensuring risk assessments, Permits to Work, and site safety policies are consistently applied, and identifying and addressing safety breaches.Working closely with internal customers to define requirements and ensure project scope is aligned with business priorities and needs.Partnering with cross-functional teams - including operations, maintenance, safety, engineering, and finance - to ensure projects are fit-for-purpose and add real value.Preparing capital funding estimates, managing project budgets, and ensuring financial targets, reporting, and governance requirements are met.Driving continuous improvement and best-practice execution across safety, quality, and cost performance.Supporting capital projects at other locations from time to time as part of the national engineering team.What we're wanting you to bring to the table:We're looking for someone who is strategic and solutions focused, that combines strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and a drive for results. You'll also need:A trade qualification with post-trade certification or a Bachelor of Engineering.At least 5 years of project engineering and capital delivery experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.Experience managing multi-discipline projects from concept to completion.Strong stakeholder management and contractor coordination skills.Exposure to lean principles or continuous improvement practices.High attention to safety and compliance, including permit and risk assessment processes.Proficiency in written and verbal communication, analytical thinking, and cross-functional collaboration.About Sugar Australia:Sugar Australia is the nation's trusted partner in sugar and ingredient solutions enabling our customers to make great products for every home.
