The Role
The Junior Business Development Manager is a new logo focused role responsible for identifying, engaging and closing new business across Australia and New Zealand. You will own the early stage commercial relationship with prospective customers, positioning IES and the IES Virtual Environment as leading solutions for building performance and sustainability.
Reporting initially to the APAC Division Head, this role offers strong mentorship alongside the autonomy to build and manage your own pipeline. It is well suited to a commercially driven salesperson ready to take ownership of a high potential territory and grow their career in B2B SaaS.
What You'll Do
New Business Development
* Identify, research and engage prospective new logo customers across ANZ within the built environment and sustainability sectors
* Build and manage a qualified sales pipeline from first contact through to contract close
* Conduct discovery calls, product demonstrations and consultative sales conversations
* Develop tailored proposals aligned to customer goals, compliance requirements and sustainability drivers
* Own and execute the full sales cycle in a structured and repeatable way
* Represent IES at industry events, conferences and relevant forums across ANZ
* Build awareness of IES solutions and identify new verticals and use cases within the market
* Develop relationships with key influencers, specifiers and decision makers
* Work closely with the APAC Division Head to align on territory strategy and revenue targets
* Partner with technical pre sales, customer success and marketing teams to support the sales journey
* Maintain accurate CRM data, pipeline reporting and forecasting
* Share market insights, competitor intelligence and customer feedback with the wider business
Learning & Development
* Build strong knowledge of the IESVE product suite and its commercial value
* Develop understanding of ANZ building regulations, energy codes and sustainability frameworks
* Participate fully in onboarding, training and enablement programmes
Skills & Experience
* 2–4 years' experience in B2B software sales with a focus on new logo acquisition
* Experience managing a full sales cycle from prospecting to close
* Confidence selling technical or complex solutions using a consultative approach
* Strong communication, presentation and relationship building skills
* Self motivated and comfortable working with autonomy in a distributed team
* Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce
Nice to Have
* Experience selling into the AEC or sustainability sectors
* Exposure to SaaS subscription models and recurring revenue
* Familiarity with IESVE or similar building performance software
* Knowledge of ANZ sustainability frameworks such as NABERS, Green Star or NCC
* Relevant tertiary qualification
