Join us in shaping healthier futures. Together we can do more.
The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) Infection Management and Control Service (IMACS) is a team of experienced CNCs, managed by the IMACS Nurse Manager. IMACS CNCs each carry portfolios of responsibility defined by geographical or service-related location. The service is supported by administrative officers and there is a close working relationship with the infectious disease specialists, ISLHD Public Health Unit, and NSW Health Pathology.
In recognition of ISLHD's position as a provider of 24 hour a day health care, IMACS CNCs participate in the IMACS on-call roster. This provides out-of-hours infection prevention and control advice and support across the LHD. CNCs are supported by the NM IMACS when rostered on-call.
The role of IMACS CNC provides expert clinical infection prevention and control advice to patients or clients, carers and health care professionals regarding the management of complex infection prevention and control healthcare needs within the LHD. IMACS CNCs are clinical experts who, through leadership, facilitate excellence in evidence-based clinical practice, education, research and professional leadership. The CNC models the CORE (Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment) values of the organisation.
The successful applicant will work cooperatively with other IMACS CNCs to develop and ensure a cohesive and consistent approach. The position involves providing leadership in all facets of infection prevention and control practice and offers significant opportunities for professional development.
