Role Overview
At Maitland Private Hospital we are committed to delivering exceptional, patient‑centred care. We are seeking a skilled and passionate Risk & Quality Manager to join our leadership team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of Clinical Services and will be responsible for facilitating and coordinating the development, implementation and management of a comprehensive, integrated risk and quality framework.
Responsibilities
The Risk & Quality Manager will:
* Lead the development and maintenance of risk management policy and procedures.
* Coordinate risk and quality activities across clinical and administrative services.
* Oversee compliance with ACHS accreditation requirements and the National Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standards (NSQHS).
* Implement quality improvement processes, strategic planning, clinical policy development and change management initiatives.
* Produce risk and quality reports for executive leadership and regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years' post‑graduate experience.
* Current unrestricted AHPRA Registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1), General.
* Current Working With Children Check and Police Check.
* Knowledge of Risk Management principles, relevant legislation, Australian Standards and certification processes.
* Leadership experience at senior management level with comprehensive knowledge of hospital administrative procedures and clinical governance.
* Sound clinical skills and knowledge applying patient‑focused safety measures.
* Demonstrated experience in facilitating, coordinating and managing risk and quality activities.
* Sound computer literacy in Microsoft Office and database management systems such as Webpas.
* Knowledge of ACHS accreditation requirements and the National Safety and Quality in Healthcare Standards (NSQHS).
* Demonstrated experience in quality improvement processes, strategic planning, clinical policy development, change management and implementation.
* Strong collaborative interpersonal skills with well‑developed verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills with ability to deliver objectives within competing deadlines.
* Australian permanent resident status or equivalent work rights.
* Immunisation evidence and serology report in accordance with NSW Health.
* Post‑graduate qualification in Risk Management or related areas.
* Previous experience in a similar role in an acute hospital setting.
* Understanding of private hospital landscape.
* Previous involvement with consumer groups &/or PROMs & PREMs.
* Experience in the development and maintenance of risk management policy and implementation of risk management programs and strategies within an organisation.
