About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a high‐performing, specialist environmental solutions business, to appoint a General Manager. This is an opportunity to step into a profitable, well‐established business with a strong reputation in supporting construction and infrastructure projects to meet environmental and water compliance requirements.
With increasing regulation across Australia, demand is growing, and the business has consistently delivered year‐on‐year growth. With a capable leadership team already in place and strong backing from the parent company, the focus of this role is to provide leadership, strengthen the brand, and drive the next phase of growth, including expansion into new regions.
The Role
This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing a well‐established and profitable business unit. You will lead a capable team across operations, business development & marketing, and technical/field delivery. Reporting directly to the Chief Operations Officer you'll also have access to a broader corporate support structure across finance, HR, and marketing. The focus is on strengthening leadership and brand presence, supporting continued growth and expanding into new geographic markets.
Key Responsibilities

What success in the role looks like
First 6 Months – Build credibility with the team and key clients; embed your leadership style into the business; maintain strong operational performance.
Beyond 6 months – Support continued growth; contribute to strategic expansion into new markets; strengthen brand positioning and market presence.
About You
You are a well‐rounded senior leader who combines technical understanding with commercial and people leadership capability. You will likely bring:
8. 10–20+ years' experience in engineering, environmental, infrastructure, or product‐based industries
9. A background in water, environmental, civil, or related technical fields
10. Proven experience leading teams in operational and/or field‐based environments
11. Strong commercial acumen and ability to navigate complex client situations
12. Experience across both operations and business development (or exposure to both)
13. The credibility to lead experienced technical and commercial professionals
