Container Deposit Systems (CDS) is a fast-growing Australian technology company operating nationally in the circular economy sector. We design and deploy AI-based container return technology that supports governments, network operators and communities to modernise recycling systems.
As we continue to scale, we are seeking a commercially minded Finance Operations Lead to strengthen financial control, payroll integrity and capital discipline across the business.
About the Role
This is a hands-on operational finance role focused on financial control and data integrity rather than statutory accounting.
You will be responsible for:
* End-to-end payroll processing and employment cost control
* Driving structured month-end close and reconciliations
* Managing and reconciling the fixed asset register (national machine footprint)
* Liaising with banks regarding asset finance facilities
* Supporting rolling cashflow visibility
* Overseeing AP/AR processes (transactional processing supported by Administration Officer)
* Acting as primary operational contact for the external accountant
The role reports directly to the CEO and plays a key role in embedding financial discipline as the business scales.
About You
You will bring:
* Strong payroll and reconciliation experience
* Experience managing fixed asset registers and capital tracking
* High attention to detail and strong systems capability
* Confidence liaising with external accountants and financial institutions
* A practical, solutions-focused mindset
* The ability to work independently and take ownership
* Australian work rights are required for this position
Experience with Simpro or similar job costing systems will be advantageous.
