About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Practice Manager/Nurse to join a well-established general practice on Brisbane's northside.
In this dual role, you'll oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic while providing hands-on nursing care to patients. This position combines leadership, business management, and clinical practice, ideal for a nurse ready to step into a leadership position within a collaborative, community-focused environment.
Alternatively, we are also considering applications from a Part-time Practice Nurse (28 hours per week) who is passionate about patient care and looking for a supportive and flexible workplace.
Key Responsibilities
As Practice Manager:
* Lead risk management and quality improvement initiatives
* Oversee recruitment, staff development, and performance management
* Ensure compliance with all legislative and accreditation standards (RACGP)
* Manage financial reporting, rostering, and budgets
* Foster a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement
As Practice Nurse:
* Provide clinical care including immunisations, wound management, ECGs, and pathology collection
* Conduct health assessments, care plans, and chronic disease management
* Maintain high standards of infection control and equipment sterilisation
* Support preventative health and patient education initiatives
* Ensure adherence to clinical governance, WHS, and quality standards
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
* Proven experience in general practice or primary healthcare
* Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills
* Sound knowledge of RACGP accreditation and compliance standards
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinical environment
Desirable
* Previous experience in a dual Practice Manager/Nurse role
* Familiarity with medical software (e.g., Best Practice, Medical Director, or similar)
* Business management or leadership qualifications
