Randstad has been engaged by a local government client for the search of a passionate Landscape Development Officer.
The primary focus of this role will be to review landscape plans and liaise with developers and our planning team to provide feedback, including participation in pre-application discussions.
The Offer
Up to $56 per hour + super
Full-time, 38 hours per week
Contracted until the end of March

Position Overview
You will be instrumental in facilitating the design and development of new landscape outcomes.
Your primary focus will be on the assessment, approval, and monitoring of landscape plans and associated works, particularly for new parkland developments and streetscape planting.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and direct internal/external stakeholders on landscape plans at both masterplan and detailed design levels.
Process, evaluate, and advise on complex landscape planning referrals/applications, ensuring strict conformity with state/local legislation, Council policies, and planning permit conditions.
Ensure all new landscape designs incorporate current Council policies regarding reserve planning, environmental sustainability, community access, and long-term asset maintenance requirements.
Verify designs comply with Australian safety standards and relevant government regulations.
Process enquiries and effectively communicate complex landscaping matters with professional consultants and community members.
Liaise with internal and external staff to contribute to the development and review of policies, masterplans, and landscape plans.
Ensure the accurate and timely capturing of asset data from developers to support future renewal and maintenance programs.
What You'll Bring
Possession of a Bachelor Degree in Landscape Architecture, Diploma in Landscape Design, or equivalent relevant experience.
Demonstrated experience in the assessment, development, and implementation of landscape master plans and detailed design plans, including liaison with developers and professional consultants.
A clear understanding of the role of landscaping in the planning permit assessment process and the ability to provide direction that achieves positive results.
An exceptional eye for fine detail in landscape plans, coupled with the ability to see how it fits into the larger strategic context of the local and PSP areas.
