About the Opportunity
As a Business Development Manager at Elexon Electronics, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of one of Australia's leading advanced electronics manufacturers. This is an opportunity to represent a company known for 20 years of engineering excellence, specialising in low‑volume, high‑complexity electronic products designed and manufactured right here in Brendale, Brisbane.
You will drive growth in markets where reliability, innovation and sovereign capability truly matter, partnering with customers across defence, industrial, mining, aerospace, rail, agriculture, and commercial technology.
Key Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities include:
· Driving new business opportunities by identifying and engaging potential clients in the electronics sector.
· Building a comprehensive understanding of the total addressable market.
· Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, engineers, and procurement professionals.
· Collaborating with internal technical teams to understand and propose tailored solutions to meet client needs.
· Managing the entire sales cycle: prospecting, quoting, negotiating, and closing.
· Monitoring market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to refine sales strategies.
· Managing marketing activities (developing marketing materials, organising and attending industry events, networking events, internal and external communication, etc.).
· Preparing regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, and profitability of products sold.
· Preparing tenders and quotations for contract manufacturing services and engineering projects.
· Developing and implementing pricing strategies.
· Managing the price list of existing products.
· Co-managing the CRM system.
· Analysing and reporting on profitability of products sold.
· Developing and implementing strategies to measure customer feedback.
· Working closely with the CEO to prepare and maintain strategic expansion plans.
· Ensuring all departmental activities are performed in accordance with the relevant Environmental policies, procedures and legislation. Actively reporting any Environmental hazards or incidents through the appropriate channels.
· Undertaking any other tasks as assigned by the CEO that are deemed reasonable and fall within the scope of the Marketing and Business Development team.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
· Tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or significant experience in technical sales or manufacturing.
· Demonstrated success in business development, sales and presenting to technical and commercial audiences.
· Strong relationship‑building skills across engineering, procurement and executive stakeholders.
· Ability to work independently with strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
· Excellent communication, organisation and project management skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Desirable
· Knowledge of electronics manufacturing or related technical industries.
· Experience with ERP and CRM platforms.
· Experience selling manufacturing services.
