About the role
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mechanic to maintain and repair a variety of plant and equipment vital to the City's operations. If you thrive in a team environment, possess a trade certificate in mechanics or equivalent experience, and value safety and excellence, we'd love to hear from you!
Duties
* Service and repair mechanical and electrical plant, vehicles, and equipment.
* Maintain equipment at the City's Golf Course, including golf buggies and mower blades.
* Perform maintenance on minor and major equipment such as mowers, brush cutters, graders, loaders, trucks, and more.
* Ensure all equipment complies with WHS regulations and environmental standards.
* Attend breakdowns promptly, resolving issues efficiently and communicating repair needs.
* Mentor apprentice mechanics and contribute to tool replacement planning.
* Maintain accurate operational records and uphold high safety standards.
Who we are looking for
To be considered for this position, you will need:
* Trade Certificate in Mechanics or 2+ years of relevant workshop experience.
* Forklift Operator's Certificate and a valid WA "C" Class Driver's Licence.
* Strong team collaboration and problem-solving skills.
* Good written communication abilities and basic knowledge of other trades.
* Commitment to workplace safety and quality outcomes.
