About the Role
Villa Maria Fortitude Valley (125 beds) is recruiting a Catering Assistant for permanent part‐time shifts (Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 3:30pm–7:30pm) or casual shifts across catering and housekeeping. The position offers a competitive hourly rate plus superannuation.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and serve meals according to the Chef's instructions.
* Deliver meals in a respectful, person‐centred manner that supports resident independence and preferences.
* Maintain accurate dietary records and report any discrepancies.
* Collaborate with the care team to gather feedback and support special events.
* Assist colleagues during busy periods and promote a supportive team environment.
Qualifications
* Certificate III or IV in Aged Care, Individual Support, Food Safety or a related field (desirable).
* Understanding of food safety standards.
* Warm, empathetic communication skills and experience engaging with people from diverse backgrounds.
* Skilled and respectful approach to residents and their families.
* Commitment to upholding the dignity, values, and spiritual beliefs of those in your care.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent time management and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
