The role
An exciting opportunity exists for a RN at Clinical Nurse level to join Community Nurse Service. We deliver high-quality, person-centred continence services that empower individuals to achieve meaningful outcomes. We support clients in Hervey Bay, Maryborough, and the surrounding areas, as well as other parts of Queensland. Our team values professional growth, teamwork, and genuine connection with clients and families. Community Nurse Service is a nurse-led domiciliary organisation providing specialist continence nursing. It is a small cohesive team despite the geographic isolation.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out comprehensive and accurate Continence Assessments of clients of all ages.
- Perform catheter changes and provide ongoing support to catheterised clients.
- Complete trial-of-voids.
- Teach clean intermittent self-catheterisation.
- Provide health education to clients based on Best Practice.
- Provide health education to the Community or other Service Providers as requested.
- Undertake research relevant to each client to meet assessment and care planning needs.
- Document all interactions with the client or other persons associated with their care.
- Correspond and interact with other health professionals involved in the client's care.
- Complete applications to Government Schemes for access subsidies for continence aids.
- Write reports for NDIS at the completion of a Continence Assessment for an NDIS participant.
