Position Overview
The Australian National University (ANU) is seeking a highly capable and strategic Executive Officer to support the Pro Vice Chancellor Research Training (RT) and work of the Research and Innovation Division (R&I). This role is integral to driving the achievement of strategic goals and ensuring the efficient operation of RT at the highest standards.
As the Executive Officer, you will play a key role in managing the business flow of RT, undertake end-to-end coordination on the development, implementation and measurement of key strategic initiatives, and provide high-level strategic advice and stewardship on business processes. You will collaborate closely with senior university executives and their office's, academic and professional staff, government agencies, and other key stakeholders to deliver outcomes that align with the University's priorities.
We are looking for an exceptional strategic thinker with the ability to work across multiple streams in a fast-paced, high-profile environment. Your skillset will include:
* Strong strategic capacity, and proven ability to exercise judgement and discretion in a high-profile, confidential environment.
* The ability to work at a high level, completing complex strategic tasks rapidly and accurately.
* Excellent organisational skills with the demonstrated ability to prioritise competing demands, whilst maintaining attention to detail and exercising sound judgement while working autonomously and within a team.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, including confidence and ability to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders; and
* Detailed knowledge of challenges facing the Australian higher education sector, and the strategic context of the ANU, would be an advantage.
