Exceptional opportunity to join an established yet rapidly expanding private manufacturing group. With niche products, a significant portion of subscription-based revenue, and customers across 5 continents in diverse industry sectors, this company is poised for growth. The plan is to increase revenue from $15m to $50m over the next 5 years, and staff from 25 to 100. The work environment is down-to-earth, casual, social, and highly flexible, with typically 6-8 staff in the office daily and most working from home 2-3 days a week, provided deliverables are met.
Your New Role
Reporting directly to the MD and succeeding a retiring financial controller (with a handover), you will manage the company’s financials. The books are in good order (Xero), data flows from Salesforce, and bookkeeping is outsourced to a mid-tier accounting firm in Perth. As the only qualified accountant, you will handle AP, AR, Payroll, Legal, Insurance, Property, General Administration, Monthly Reporting, Tax, and strategic/ commercial tasks such as budgeting, forecasting, pricing, tenders, contract support, and business partnering.
As the company grows, your role will evolve, potentially leading to hiring additional team members and eventually stepping into a CFO position when appropriate. Currently, an FC is sufficient given the company's size.
Your Profile
This is an excellent opportunity for a mid-level manager to lead the finance and accounting functions of a growing SME. You should be a well-rounded financial controller, capable of compliance, providing commercial support, and engaging well with non-financial managers in a dynamic, young environment. Experience in public accounting firms (tax, business services, audit) and some corporate SME experience is preferred. Familiarity with Xero is advantageous but not essential. Preference for candidates involved in various aspects of the business beyond accounting, especially in rapidly growing companies with international exposure, will be highly regarded.
