Reporting: Senior Management AccountantLocation: MaitlandPurpose Of The JobThe Cost Accountant will support operations by providing information that will aid decision making and drive profitability, operational efficiency and effective cost control. The Cost Accountant will identify and drive system improvement opportunities and ensure strong controls are in place.Key Functional AreasPerform product and customer costingsCompile costing information and perform adhoc costings as requiredAnalyse margin and costs and identify where improvements can be made to profitabilityCalculating production recovery costs and ensuring BOM’s are accurateCoordinate inventory counts and resolve variancesEnsure strong inventory controls are in place to safeguard inventory and drive accuracyComplete landed cost calculations for imported raw materials and ensure inventory is valued correctlyReview the accuracy of inventory related transactions and assist with queriesReview WIP to ensure accuracy, investigate reasons for variances and drive corrective actionsAnalyse material usage and waste and drive corrective actionsCompile and maintain reports to track performance and KPI’sPreparing information and reports for business presentationsAssist with compiling annual budgets and rolling forecastsProviding systems support to users and maintaining master dataIdentify and drive system improvements and assist with special projectsPrepare SOP documentation and provide training to staff on systems implementedAssist with Capex calculations and tracking of return on investmentRequired Prior Learning/ ExperienceBcom Cost and Management Accounting or Finance related degree (Studying towards CIMA advantageous)At least 1-3 years of experience in a financial or cost accounting roleExperience working within a manufacturing environment will be an advantageRequired Knowledge And SkillsExperience working with ERP (Syspro) systems and integrated systems (Barcode scanning) will be an advantageComputer literate: MS Office (Intermediate / Advanced Excel / Pivot Tables, Power BI advantageous)Driver’s License essentialPersonal CharacteristicsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilityGood attention to detail and organisational skillsGood written, verbal communication and collaborative skillsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesTeam Player and the ability to drive projects and implementations within a teamIf you have not received a response within two weeks of application, kindly consider your application unsuccessful.To consider any application for employment, we will have to process your personal information.
