The Opportunity

Peninsula Gardens Retirement Living is nestled among 14 acres of beautifully maintained gardens creating a welcoming and vibrant community where residents enjoy an active and connected lifestyle. As Maintenance Supervisor, you will be working closely alongside your fellow Maintenance Officer, the residents and fellow staff, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair tasks around our retirement village. No two days are the same. From completing repairs and maintenance tasks to coordinating contractors and helping maintain our beautiful grounds and facilities, you'll be at the heart of creating an environment that residents are proud to call home.

This role is perfect for someone with a trade background or strong maintenance experience who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, and building positive relationships. If you're proactive, approachable, and take pride in helping others, you'll thrive in this rewarding position. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a trade background or strong domestic maintenance experience, who is friendly, proactive, and passionate about helping others.

This is a permanent full time position working Monday to Friday (7:30am-3:30pm).

Your Impact

* Work with the Aveo Facilities team and contractors to ensure external works are attended to and completed to a high standard
* Conduct regular inspections around the village to rectify any maintenance defects and issues
* Perform small plumbing maintenance, including replacing taps and washers
* Support the upkeep of external assets such as lighting and sprinkler systems
* Carry out scheduled preventative maintenance across the community
* Manage community tools and equipment to ensure they are safe, organized and fit for purpose
* Record maintenance activities, notes and job updates
* Be a friendly and approachable presence for residents while working closely with a supportive team

What you'll bring

* Experience in a general maintenance or trade-based role, including hands-on handyperson tasks
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach, with the ability to assess issues, troubleshoot and take action
* An understanding of maintenance cycles and the expected lifespan of equipment and village assets
* Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain maintenance works in a resident-friendly way
* A positive, approachable attitude and a strong sense of pride in your work
* A valid driver's licence (essential)
* Minimum of two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations (required)
