We’ve partnered with Macquarie Darling Partners to support them in finding their next Assistant Accountant. The role is ideal for someone who thrives off of both variety and process-driven workflow. You will also be working closely with the Principal on various projects and ad-hoc tasks.

What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing BAS for clients and ensuring lodgements meet ATO deadlines
- Processing payroll and superannuation across a range of client industries
- Assisting with income tax return preparation and financial workpapers
- Managing client queries via phone and email, providing support or following up internally
- General accounting, data entry and administrative support to the Principal
- Daily timesheet entry and maintaining accurate records of completed work
- Answering calls and assisting clients in a friendly and professional manner
- Contributing to other tasks as required within a small, busy practice
About You
You’re someone who enjoys variety - balancing client contact with process driven accounting work.
You take ownership of your tasks, communicate clearly, and understand the importance of accuracy in a small practice environment.
You will also possess:
- Certificate IV in Accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting processes and software
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidential, professional and capable of handling sensitive information
- Able to analyse information and manage complex client situations confidently
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with ATO legislation, deadlines and compliance requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly Regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce (majoring in Accounting)
- Experience working in Public Practice Accounting firms
