Flying Bark Productions is working on exciting projects such as Avatar: The Last Airbender feature film, Netflix's Stranger Things animated series, and Tales From Outer Suburbia by Shaun Tan.Prioritising candidates based in Australia with sponsorship/relocation assistance available for the right candidate.*The CG Generalist will be responsible for executing CG/3D modelling and establishing the look and surface qualities for characters, props, and environments for the Program/s. The artist will focus on environment models and set pieces, developing textures and shaders that match the visual style, guided by the Director’s vision and the look development process.About the role:Construct organic and hard surface models that convey the art department's reference and match the production's style.Define the three-dimensional form and two-dimensional silhouette of models, resolving details as needed.Paint CG textures using 2D design references faithful to the production style.Develop shaders for all CG assets.Create UV maps or adjust models to meet pipeline requirements and asset complexity.Follow guidance from the creative and technical leaders to realize the Director's vision.Balance technical and creative requirements for motion picture quality, including geometry efficiency, detail level, topology, UV layout, and rendering.Create, revise, and maintain digital assets for characters, props, and environments, supporting end users and responding to review notes.Collaborate with other crew members, including Technical Directors, Modelers, Riggers, Surfacers, Background artists, Animators, and Lighters, to ensure asset usability.Work with Asset, Background, CG Layout, and Lighting/Compositing teams to meet schedules and deadlines.Ensure the Director’s vision is successfully realized.Implement solutions quickly and effectively.Build relationships with key production members and artists.Take direction and work autonomously when required.Be adaptable, flexible, and responsive to changes.Complete tasks within production deadlines.About you:Ability to meet deadlines consistently.Experience with Maya, Photoshop, and proficiency in Substance Painter or Mari in a production environment.Knowledge of modeling, surfacing, and rigging workflows.Experience with Katana and/or Arnold, with good understanding of photoreal and non-photoreal rendering.Ability to identify issues that could impact asset delivery.Excellent communication skills and team-sharing attitude.Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to change.Ability to work independently and under supervision.Maintain high productivity and quality in a fast-paced environment.What do we do?Flying Bark Productions is a renowned independent producer of family-focused animation entertainment.
