About this opportunity
We're looking for people that are compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team in Mount Gambier. If you're someone who enjoys working both independently and as part of a team, and can also take initiative, this could be the ideal role for you.
We're looking for people that can be available to -
* Work at least 2 to 7 hours per day, for a minimum of 2 days a week (Monday to Sunday)
* Support our home support, community access and respite teams
As a Disability Support Worker, you may be required to
* Assist with daily living tasks (e.g. personal care, medication, meal prep, household chores)
* Promote independence and well-being, and help facilitate social activities and community engagement
* Build positive relationships with people and their support networks
* Implement individual care plans
* Maintain accurate records and ensure safety and well-being
* Promote a safe and inclusive environment and respond to emergency situations and provide crisis support
Pay
We pay flat hourly rates to your ABN company.
* Weekdays up to $50 an hour
* Saturdays at $65 an hour
* Sundays at $75 an hour
* Public Holidays at $90 an hour
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* An active ABN with appropriate insurance.
* Have a genuine passion to help people with disabilities and their families/loved ones live a better life
* The ability to manage time effectively, including completing timesheets, shift notes, incident reports, and other required documentation. This also includes being a proactive problem-solver and adapting to changing situations.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and a flexible and adaptable approach to work
* A current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
* First Aid + CPR, or Safe Environments for Children & Young People certifications (or willingness to obtain)
* Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability), or relevant experience in the disability industry
* Experience working with people with disabilities (preferred, but not essential)
