CASUAL/FULL TIME SKIPPER (MASTER <24m NC)
We are currently seeking a
Skipper (Master <24m NC / Master Class 5)
to join our team in Port Lincoln. This is a hands-on role supporting vessel operations year-round, including preparation for the upcoming fishing season.
We are looking for someone who is not just skilled, but committed – someone who wants to build a long-term career with us.
The Role:
As a Skipper, you will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of our vessels, with tasks ranging from vessel handling and maintenance to supporting key fishing and marine operations.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operating vessels for towing, transport, and other marine duties.
* Overseeing vessel preparation, start-ups, and maintenance.
* Maintaining exceptional housekeeping standards on board.
* Supporting the safe and effective movement of gear and infrastructure.
* Carrying out other duties as directed by the Farm or Vessel Maintenance Manager.
About You:
We're looking for someone who is:
* Physically fit and comfortable working in a marine environment
* A confident vessel operator with good seamanship skills
* A strong communicator with excellent time management
* Able to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism
* Honest, reliable, and a team player
* Experience in towing operations and aquaculture (advantageous but not essential)
* Loyal and reliable, with a strong interest in a long-term role.
Essential Requirements:
* Master <25m or Master <35m qualification
* Availability to work on the water as part of daily marine operations
* Commitment to safety and teamwork
