About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Retail Assistant to join our team at The Salvation Army Family Store in the Nambour Region. This role is key to supporting the daily operations of the store, including customer service, stock management, and store presentation—all while helping deliver on the mission and values of The Salvation Army.
How you will make an impact
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Deliver outstanding customer service and provide assistance across all store areas including sales floor, fitting rooms, registers, and back-of-house
- Support marketing and promotional activities within the store
- Assist with processing donations and ensure merchandise is accurately priced and well-stocked on the sales floor
- Carry out store opening and closing duties as required
- Follow established procedures for secure cash handling and banking
- Provide coaching, guidance, and supervision to team members when needed
- Maintain visual merchandising standards in line with organisational guidelines
- Keep the store clean, tidy, and organised by supporting general housekeeping tasks
What You Will Bring
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team
- Experience in supervising or guiding others in a retail setting (highly regarded)
- A reasonable level of physical fitness to perform manual tasks
- Completion of mandatory training modules including Code of Conduct, WHS, and Bullying & Harassment
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of people
