Key responsibilities of this position include delivering superior customer service to support Defence logistics. The role requires a range of logistics functions, including inventory management, logistics assurance, governance, procurement and local systems support.
The Logistics Officer will be responsible for organising their workflow, making decisions within their defined parameters relating to area of responsibility and will seek guidance when required. They will provide administrative support that is informed and directed by their knowledge of the Logistics support function.
An essential aspect of this role is to share information, remotely monitor work practices, set work priorities and develop local/remote procedures. They may be required to communicate with, respond and provide advice to a range of stakeholders on moderately complex operational and administrative issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
This role also involves contributing towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. As a key member of our team, they will have the opportunity to investigate new methods and solutions, collaborate with Australian Defence staff, and drive warehouse operations using material handling equipment and medium rigid trucks to various remote Defence sites.
The Logistics Officer will need to possess good communication skills to inform supervisors, team members and customers to achieve required warehouse functions and equipment/stores management outcomes for Defence.
