Lead Family Law Department
We seek an accomplished Family Lawyer to spearhead our family law practice.
This senior role offers autonomy, leadership opportunities, and the chance to shape the future of our family law department.
You will oversee a diverse caseload, manage junior lawyers and support staff, and drive strategic growth within the department.
Regular appearances in court, as well as providing expert advice on complex family law matters, will be part of your responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the family law department, including mentoring and supervising junior lawyers and support staff.
* Provide strategic and solution-focused legal advice to clients on divorce, separation, property settlements, child custody, and other family law matters.
* Prepare and review legal documentation such as parenting plans, consent orders, and financial agreements.
* Represent clients in court proceedings, including mediations, hearings, and trials.
* Brief and collaborate with counsel regularly.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, providing exceptional service.
* Collaborate with the wider legal team to ensure efficient and effective delivery of client outcomes.
* Stay up-to-date with changes in family law legislation.
Requirements
* A minimum of 5 years' post-admission experience in family law.
* A strong understanding of the legal principles and processes involved in family law matters.
* Proven leadership and team management skills.
* Excellent communication and client service skills, with the ability to provide empathetic and practical advice.
* Strong negotiation and advocacy skills, with experience representing clients in court.
* A collaborative mindset and eagerness to work effectively as part of a team.
* Admitted to practice as a solicitor in Victoria and holding a current practising certificate.
