Role Details
We are seeking two Safety Advisors to join our team at Broken Hill on a residential basis only. One role will provide dedicated support to our maintenance teams, while the other will support our mining operations.
This is a Monday to Friday roster, offering the chance to build your career while enjoying the lifestyle and community of Broken Hill.
What You’ll Be Doing
Reporting to the Health and Safety Superintendent, the Safety Advisor plays a key role in supporting frontline leaders and the broader workforce to meet our safety expectations. You’ll contribute to a culture of accountability, safety awareness, and continuous improvement by:
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of HSE systems, policies, and procedures
- Support site-based incident investigations and risk assessments
- Conduct workplace inspections and hazard identification activities
- Facilitate safety training and inductions
- Assist with internal and external HSE audits
- Maintain accurate safety records and data reporting
- Promote proactive safety behaviours and compliance with Perilya’s Fitness for Work and Rules to Live By programs
What You Will Bring
- Minimum Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (WHS) – Diploma of WHS preferred
- Experience in mining, construction, or a high-risk operational environment
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Drug and Alcohol Testing qualification (HLTPAT005) or willingness to obtain
- Familiarity with safety auditing practices (desirable)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
