Job Summary
As a SeniorSolutions Engineer: Defence & Intelligence (Pre Sales) in NetApp's Sales Function, you will primarily provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions. You will utilise your technical expertise and our cutting-edge data storage portfolio to address customers' technical needs and deliver successful business results. You will be assigned to a district team and sales leader, focusing on expanding our presence within existing and new clients together with business partners.
* Use in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations
* Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions
* May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions
* May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client
* Providing consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation
Job Responsibilities
* Designing tailored storage technology solutions to address unique customer challenges
* Conveying the advantaged of NetApp storage solutions through presentations, demonstrations, and discussions
* Designing and architecting on-premise or hybrid storage systems (knowledge of NAS, SAN and Object Storage is required)
* Developing storage infrastructure and data management solutions for enterprise applications, also in the context of Cloud Services
* Providing deep insights into Storage and Data Management vendor ecosystem, and having prior experience with backup solutions
* Creating ROI/TCO overview and competitive advantages of solution offerings
* Collaborate with client executives and partner sales to create strategies for developing customer opportunities related to storage solutions
* Advise on engagement and utilization of broader range of technical resources
* Offering and applying technical expertise on NetApp's storage products and solutions
Job Requirements
* At least 8 years of experience and expertise in technical specifications on storage products and services
* Due to the nature of the role, Australian Citizenship is mandatory and NV1 or higher security clearance is preferred
* Prior experience in the capacity of Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, or Solutions Engineering on storage technologies
* Operate as Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) and have the ability to influence the Sales team, driving initiatives and act as a Decision-maker on Projects
* Experience or working knowledge with products from EMC, HDS, HPE, IBM, VMware or PureStorage
* Prior knowledge in Cloud, Storage, AI/ML, Database, Microservices, Enterprise Applications or DevOps is advantageous
* Interested and/or possess relevant knowledge of Docker/Container & Kubernetes (K8S) platforms
* Interested and/or possess relevant knowledge for hybrid multi-cloud technologies, AI Platform
