The Kingston Centre Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology department value the contributions of our AHA team to support clinical demand and optimise patient centred outcomes. Physiotherapy/Exercise Physiology AHAs are based on a home ward to allow the opportunity to build relationships with peers and colleagues as well as patients on the ward.
The AHA team is required to be flexible and work across different clinical areas to ensure the equitability of clinical service, which allows the opportunity to build skills across a variety of areas and clinical specialties.
**A Day in the Life**
The role of the Allied Health Assistant in the Physiotherapy/EP team has a strong clinical focus and includes the following tasks:
- Reviewing and discussing delegations from AHPs
- Provide clinical intervention to patients in subacute rehabilitation as delegated by AHP
- Conducting joint sessions with AHPs for patients with complex needs
- Working with AHPs to facilitate group sessions including upper limb group
- Working closely with AHPs to facilitate aquatic physiotherapy sessions
- The role also includes administrative and non-clinical duties:
- Assisting AHPs with ward based & Aquatic therapy timetabling
- Completing equipment audits
- Supporting AHPs to maintain a safe and clean working environment
- Providing supervision to AHA students
- Membership of Cross site AHA Working Parties

**What You Need**:
- Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working as an AHA in a health care setting for Grade 3 role
- A current Australian Drivers Licence
- Australian working rights
