What You Will Be Doing This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC plasma cutting machinery to ensure precise cutting of steel plates based on program specifications. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-start checks and routine maintenance, loading steel plates as per program sheets, and configuring machine settings for correct sequencing and dimensions. The operator monitors machine performance during operation, making adjustments as needed to address issues like dull cutting tools or excessive vibration. After cutting, the operator inspects finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards, records heat numbers, and marks products with customer details. Additional duties include operating cranes and forklifts for material handling, assisting with stock counts, completing goods-inwards for incoming materials, and preparing products for dispatch. The role also requires maintaining accurate records, participating in safety meetings, adhering to all OH&S procedures, and supporting the onboarding and training of new staff. Attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential in this position.
