The purpose of this role is to 
**oversee the transport functions** and 
**productivity initiatives** for the region and 
**ensure compliance and safety** 
**requirements** are met.
Based at our site in 
**Blacktown NSW** and reporting to the National Transport Manager, you will be responsible for devising and implementing formal processes for a transport strategy to ensure that deliveries are maintained, contractors are sourced and monitored, and customer service is maintained at appropriate levels. Further responsibilities include ensuring costs are controlled within budget whilst delivering continual improvement of transport safety within the region.
This role would suit someone with 
**strong communications skills **and who has 
**managed day-to-day transport operations/logistics **to meet business requirements.
**Other responsibilities in this role will include**:
- Take ownership of profitability and operational costs for transport in the region. 
- Develop and implement Transport Productivity Initiatives. 
- Manage and effectively liaise with all internal and external stakeholders throughout the region. 
- Ensure fleet maintenance is in line with the required plans for the region. 
- Ensure all contractors and service providers have current agreements in place for the region. 
- Ensure all incidents and near misses are reported and improvement actions agreed are completed. 
- Work on and implement Transport Safety Action Plan. 
- Provide training and communicate the ELGAS Safety message to the team.
**To be successful you will have**:
- Proven experience and knowledge within logistics, dangerous goods or LPG industries. 
- University Degree in logistics or relevant field (desirable). 
- High level stakeholder management skills. 
- Excellent communication skills. 
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills 
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Excel.
