Your new role
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting and maintaining data assets across multiple platforms, including Cloud Data Lake, Cloud EDW, Legacy EDW, and SAS analytics. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of daily data delivery processes, month-end processing, and responding to business-as-usual (BAU) data requests.You’ll work within a modern DevOps environment and collaborate closely with data consumers, developers, testers, and IT support teams to ensure platform reliability and performance.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience with AWS Cloud technologies including S3 and Glue
- Strong technical support capabilities across AWS, Control-M, Teradata, Snowflake, and ETL tools
- High-level programming skills, particularly in Python
- Familiarity with scheduling tools such as Control-M
- Experience with file transfer tools (e.g. GoAnywhere or similar)
- Solid understanding of version control systems and DevOps practices
- Ability to prioritise tasks and manage work queues effectively
- Strong analytical skills to understand and meet user requirements
- Proficiency in developing and maintaining SQL and ETL code
- Experience in documenting systems and processes
- A collaborative mindset and ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
- Commitment to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing
