What this opportunity involves:
We are seeking an experienced Part-Time Precinct Finance Manager to join our Property Management team at Melbourne Quarter precinct in Melbourne. This role offers the perfect opportunity for a finance professional seeking work-life balance whilst maintaining a challenging and rewarding career in property management.
Working three days per week, you will direct and manage the delivery of management and financial reports to property owners, coordinate month-end reporting, annual budgets, and quarterly forecasts whilst maintaining effective accounting controls and procedures.
Please note: this role is Part-Time, 3-days per week.
An overview of the role:
Daily Operations:
* Review account coding, department codes, and authorisation of accounts payable batches
* Educate and support the team on financial issues including accrual accounting
* Update internal reports weekly to assist team management
* Review and update MRI accounting system and provide EOM reports to Precinct Facilities Managers
Monthly Deliverables:
* Process month-end and deliver comprehensive month-end reports for each property owner
* Complete general ledger entries review for completeness and accuracy
* Execute month-end close-off procedures for MRI system
* Complete GST reviews and consolidation reporting requirements
Quarterly & Annual Functions:
* Coordinate quarterly reforecasts with Precinct Facilities Managers
* Prepare property budgets and facilitate successful internal and owner budget review meetings
* Manage outgoings estimates and wash-up reconciliations where applicable
* Prepare audited operating expense statements and liaise with external auditors

This is what we're looking for:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
* Minimum 5 years' experience in financial reporting within property management, real estate, or related industry
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise work effectively
* Excellent communication skills across all organisational levels
* MBA or advanced certification (CFA, CPA)
* Experience with MRI accounting systems
* Property management industry experience
* High degree of independence with ability to operate within contractual boundaries
* Positive approach to meeting client needs whilst managing tenant expectations
* Strong team collaboration skills
* Detail-oriented with excellent analytical capabilities
