About the role
Rip Curl is searching for a Digital Technical Lead to own, shape and elevate the technology behind our ecommerce and digital marketing experiences. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role for someone who loves solving problems, improving systems, and keeping digital platforms running at their best.
Sitting in our Digital team and reporting to the Digital Technology Business Manager, you’ll be the technical heartbeat of Rip Curl’s online ecosystem — ensuring our platforms are reliable today and ready for what’s next. In time, you may also help support digital tech across the wider KMD Brands Group.
What you’ll be doing
Ecommerce & MarTech (your core playground)
You’ll oversee and optimise the technology that powers our online business — including Shopify, Klaviyo, analytics tools, GTM, Google ecosystem, product and social feeds, and consent tools.
Every day, you will:
* Keep our ecommerce and marketing tech running smoothly
* Troubleshoot issues fast and put preventative measures in place
* Manage and collaborate with external tech partners
* Support both BAU operations and project rollouts
* Help international teams where needed
* Prioritise enhancements by impact and ROI
* Recommend new tech and methods to improve performance and customer experience
* Own the QA of new releases to ensure stability and quality
Data, Tracking & Reliability
You’ll make sure our reporting can be trusted by:
* Owning tagging, tracking, attribution and data quality
* Maintaining high‑quality customer and product data
* Managing experimentation and testing tools
* Improving personalisation and targeting foundations

Governance, Privacy & Compliance
You’ll safeguard our platforms and customers by:
* Setting clear governance for GTM, cookies and consent
* Monitoring OneTrust for blockers and compliance
* Upholding privacy, security and responsible data practices
* Keeping documentation accurate and accessible
* Supporting any accessibility (ADA) enhancements
Customer Experience Enablement
You’ll ensure our website performs at its best for every visitor:
* Keeping the site fast, stable and ready for campaigns
* Supporting content updates for new products and marketing activity
* Translating business needs into clear technical requirements
* Leading testing and UAT for key releases
* Rolling out changes in a controlled, trading‑safe way
What you bring
* Strong understanding of E-Commerce and MarTech ecosystems
* Excellent attention to detail especially in data and tracking
* Ability to explain technical concepts simply
* Structured documentation and process skills
* A proactive, ownership‑driven approach
* Organised, independent and comfortable working at pace
* Understanding of privacy, consent and responsible data use
* Ability to prioritise what matters most
Nice to have
* Qualifications in Marketing, E‑Commerce or Information Technology
* Experience with: Shopify, Klaviyo, Google ecosystem, Akeneo, OneTru
