Permanent | Defence Aviation | Multiple Locations - Oakey | Amberley Your new company A leading Defence aviation organisation is seeking a number of qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) to support critical military aircraft across multiple Australian bases. Operating in a highly regulated, safetycritical environment, this organisation delivers longterm sustainment and maintenance services to Australian Defence Force aviation platforms. Multiple locations available in QLD and SA. Your new role As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME), you will be responsible for performing and certifying aircraft maintenance activities in accordance with authorised maintenance data and organisational procedures. These opportunities are suited to engineers from Avionics, Mechanical, or Structures backgrounds who are looking to work within a Defence aviation environment.Depending on experience and authorisation, responsibilities will include: Performing aircraft and component maintenance, inspections, servicing, testing, and troubleshooting Recording, certifying, and signing off maintenance activities in line with AMO authorisation and Defence requirements Ensuring compliance with foreign object control, tool control, and maintenance errorcapture processes Identifying, recording, and reporting defects, unserviceabilities, and aviation safety issues Interpreting authorised maintenance data and Instructions for Continuing Airworthiness (ICA) Liaising with Planning, Maintenance Control, Quality, and Supply Chain teams to support work order execution Supporting audits, risk assessments, and aviation safety reporting For senior or certifying engineers: supervising and mentoring maintenance staff and apprentices What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have: A recognised Aeroskills Certificate III and/or IV qualification in Avionics, Mechanical, or Structures Experience performing aircraft maintenance in a regulated aviation environment Demonstrated knowledge of Defence Aviation Safety Regulations (DASRs) Experience using Continuing Airworthiness Records (CAwR) The ability to interpret and work to Authorised Maintenance Data (AMD) and ICA documentation Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and documentation accuracy Demonstrated computer literacy The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defence security clearance Eligibility to meet ITAR / exportcontrolled access requirements Desirable experience includes: Previous experience in a Defence Military Aerospace environment A valid DASR Category A or B Military Aircraft Maintenance Licence (MAML) Completion of relevant aircraft type training Prior supervisory or mentoring experience What you'll get in return You will join a wellestablished Defence aviation organisation offering longterm stability, structured training, and clear career development pathways.
