About the role
- Manage the operational delivery of scientific multi-specialty cardiac investigation services at the RBWH, focusing on safety and quality, providing advocacy on matters of high importance, utilising expert level negotiation and conflict management skills to manage these services and their State-wide impact
- Provide high level authoritative counsel to stakeholders in the Metro North Health Service District, demonstrating significant understanding of the health care continuum
- Provide leadership and guidance operationally and strategically to the State-Wide Tele-Cardiac Investigations management team, which includes 24 regional and rural sites. Sites include:
- North West Hospital and Health Service (HHS) - Camooweal HC, Cloncurry CHC, Doomadgee Hospital, Julia Creek Hospital, Mornington Island Hospital, Mount Isa Base Hospital, Normanton Hospital
- Central West HHS - Alpha Hospital, Aramac PHC, Barcaldine Hospital, Birdsville PHC, Blackall Hospital, Boulia PHC, Iningai CHC (Longreach), Longreach Hospital, Muttaburra PHC, Tambo PHC, Windorah Clinic, Winton Hospital
- Mackay HHS - Bowen Hospital, Proserpine Hospital
- Central Queensland HHS - Emerald Hospital, Rockhampton Hospital
- Metro North HHS - Kilcoy Hospital
- When required, provide all aspects of operational management for the multi-speciality cardiac investigation services at the RBWH; including strategic roles usually undertaken by the Director of Cardiac Sciences
About you
- Management - Demonstrated ability to provide managerial and operational leadership for a large multi-speciality cardiac sciences service ensuring safety and quality across multiple disciplines and advocation for patient centred care in the development of high-level service improvement initiatives. Demonstrated ability to articulate and lead strategic planning for a service/s and strategically direct the management of service delivery, ensuring alignment with health service strategic objectives
- Leadership - Demonstrated ability to provide clinical and managerial leadership in the development of high-level service improvement initiatives, including integration of innovative and emerging technologies. Demonstrated ability to be highly agile and adaptive to a complex changing work environment, professionally and clinically. Demonstrated emotional intelligence, conflict resolution skills and negotiation skills. Demonstrates leadership in the development of professional standards on a state-wide basis
- Communication - Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in all areas of clinical practice, operational and strategic management, providing high level authoritative advice to professionals and operational supervisors regarding service delivery and improvement opportunities. Demonstrated communication in aligning a service, and influencing culture towards a common vision, direction and ethical framework
- Clinical Expertise - Demonstrate expert levels of knowledge, clinical expertise and skills in one or more cardiac investigation speciality and the associated clinical practice standards, with a commitment to ongoing qualified and clinical development activities
