Children & Families Coordinator
Lead and grow our ministry for primary-aged children and younger, working alongside our leadership team and volunteers.....
Our Church & Community
Common Ground is a vibrant, multi-generational and multi-cultural Christian church in Townsville. In a world full of busyness, our vision is to be a place where people experience God's life-giving and loving ways. We are Christ-centred, relational, and community-focused because we believe God is relevant to everyone—both within and beyond our walls.
The Role
We are excited to offer a new part-time position dedicated to strengthening our ministry with children and young families. The Children & Families Coordinator will lead and grow our ministry for primary-aged children and younger, working alongside our leadership team and volunteers.
Your heart will be to disciple children into a living relationship with Jesus through engaging, relational, and age-appropriate ministry—whether on Sunday mornings in our Kids program or in weekday connections with schools and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
These responsibilities will be shaped around the strengths and passions of the successful applicant but will include:
* Growing and leading a Sunday morning Kids discipleship program that children love being part of
* Creating relational, welcoming community opportunities for families (e.g., picnics, family movie nights)
* Strengthening our partnerships with local primary school(s)
* Exploring the development of a playgroup or families program
* Recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers who serve alongside you
About you, experience and qualifications
We're seeking someone who brings both passion and authenticity to this ministry. You will have:
* A genuine relationship and passion for following Jesus
* A love for children and a desire to nurture their faith and potential
* Alignment with our vision, values, and missional heart, and a willingness to be part of our church community
* The ability to work collaboratively and a commitment to ongoing professional development
* A current Blue Card and National Police Check
* A current Australian driver's licence
* The right to live and work in Australia
* Relevant ministry or children's work experience (formal or informal) considered an advantage
