About the Role
As a Carer Connector & Group Coach, you will play a key role in supporting Carers through a strengths-based, trauma-informed and community-focused approach. This role has a strong focus on group coaching and facilitation, helping Carers build confidence, improve wellbeing, and achieve meaningful personal goals.
You will deliver group coaching sessions and activities, connect Carers to relevant supports, and build strong relationships within your local community. Through outreach, engagement and collaboration, you'll help ensure Carers feel supported, informed, and empowered.
This is a highly flexible role that will involve working across different locations, with a strong focus on regional delivery and community engagement. You'll work as part of a geographically dispersed team, contributing to high-quality, person-centred services aligned with Carers SA procedures and program guidelines.
Key responsibilities
* Facilitate group coaching sessions that support Carer wellbeing, self-care and goal setting
* Deliver peer group sessions that foster connection, shared experience and mutual support
* Provide individual coaching support, where required
* Build strong relationships with local organisations, community groups and stakeholders
* Promote Carers SA services and support pathways within the community
* Support Carers to access appropriate services, including respite, counselling and external supports
* Provide informal advocacy and follow-up to ensure supports remain relevant and effective
* Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in line with organisational requirements
* Use data and feedback to improve service delivery and outcomes
* Work collaboratively with internal teams to support integrated service delivery
* This position will be based in Seaton with significant travel to the Yorke Peninsula & Mid-North SA, supporting Carers in this region.
About You
You are an engaging and empathetic professional who enjoys working with people and facilitating meaningful conversations. You bring strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to create safe, inclusive spaces for Carers.
You will bring:
* Experience in group facilitation, coaching, or community-based support
* Strong understanding of strength-based and trauma-informed approaches
* Ability to build rapport and engage diverse groups of people
* Experience supporting individuals experiencing stress, complexity or change
* Strong organisational and time management skills
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a virtual team
* Proficiency in CRM and case management systems
* Relevant tertiary qualification in community services, social sciences or similar
* Experience working with Carers or in the human services sector
* Knowledge of local community supports and services
* Understanding of systems such as NDIS, mental health or aged care
* Mental Health First Aid or trauma-informed practice training
