Correctional centres are responsible for the delivery of custodial services across Queensland. People in custody are supervised in either high or low security correctional centres. High security centres provide for the management of adult prisoners held in secure custody correctional centres across Queensland.
Within the context of the role responsibilities described above under "About the role', the ideal applicant will be someone who can competitively demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experiences and their suitability against the Leadership competencies for Queensland (Individual contributor): Vision, Results and Accountability in the context of the essential requirements for this role.
The essential requirements for this role are:
* Experience in the design, delivery and review of vocational education training programs to individuals and groups
* Excellent presentation skills with the ability to think on your feet when facilitating
* Confident facilitator with demonstrated capability to successfully engage a diverse audience of adult learners to help cement knowledge transfer and application
* Knowledge of adult learning principles
* Demonstrated ability to assess the vocational education and training needs of clients as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
* Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) negotiation and conflict resolution skills and the ability to build and maintain working relationships with a group of diverse stakeholders including staff, community groups and visitors
* Knowledge and application of legislation, policies and procedures including Workplace Health and Safety
Qualifications, professional registration, conditions and other requirements:
* It is an operational requirement that the candidate must hold a relevant trade qualification, trade certificate and industry experience.
* Possession of a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40116) or equivalent qualification would be highly desirable. Candidates not possessing a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be required to achieve that qualification within 12 months.
