Are you a commercially driven arts professional with a passion for creating dynamic programming and driving revenue? We’re looking for a Producer, Commercial to join our Programming and Presenter Services Directorate and help shape an exciting future for our venues.
As Producer, Commercial, you’ll work under the guidance of the Senior Producer, Commercial, and play a key role in increasing venue utilisation and generating revenue. You’ll leverage your extensive industry networks and strong negotiation skills to identify and present financially viable and strategically aligned commercial programming opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
In collaboration with the wider commercial team you will deliver content that drives revenue and attendance.
Understand and analyse sales trends, data, and audience demographics to inform programming recommendations.
Develop local, national, and international collaborations and partnerships.
Deliver projects on time and on budget.
Identify and deliver opportunities with wide audience appeal (local, national, and international).
Contract negotiations and artist management.
Work with colleagues to capitalise on return (ie public programs, food and beverage revenue)
Financial management and achieving revenue targets.
Identify new funding streams.
Reporting requirements including KPIs, acquittals, board reports, financial reports, day-to-day operational reporting.
Personnel supervision of contractors as required.
Represent the organisation at key meetings, industry events, marketplaces, and forums.
Prepare, manage, and adjust program budgets, ensuring adherence to financial compliance and maximising resource allocation.
Negotiate and issue contracts to promoters and artists and program personnel alongside any other key documentation to ensure quality governance.
Build, monitor and update event particulars through event management software, ticketing builds, marketing briefs, and compile performance/event documentation to support and communicate key project details to stakeholders.
Serve as a point of contact for artists, handling scheduling, operational, logistical arrangements, technical specifications, performance requirements, and any additional needs.
What We’re Looking For – Knowledge & Experience
Strong, established relationships across industry networks, including presenters, promoters, and artists.
In-depth understanding of venue operations and management, with demonstrated knowledge of production requirements for live theatre, festivals, and large-scale outdoor events.
Proven experience in financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and achieving revenue targets.
Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or significant equivalent experience in developing and delivering live performance-based cultural programs that support artists and engage diverse audiences.
