Description
Reporting to the Manager of Finance within the Finance & Corporate Services Department, the Accounts Payable Officer is responsible for the accurate receipt, processing, and payment of all invoices and charges incurred by the College.
Key responsibilities include:
* Managing the processing, validation, coding, and payment of all creditor invoices through Alii and Synergetic Accounts Payable systems
* Maintaining Purchase Order Business Units and managing staff access
* Liaising with internal stakeholders, including parent support groups, to ensure appropriate documentation and authorisation
* Preparing and scheduling EFT payments, including foreign currency transactions
* Resolving invoice, contract, purchase order, and payment discrepancies
* Processing daily debit bank statement entries
* Processing monthly staff credit card transactions
* Reconciling supplier accounts to monthly statements
This position is 0.8 FTE (30 hours per week), with working days/hours negotiated with the successful candidate. The role is classified at Level 4 within the Administrative and Technical Officer Salary Scale, offering $82,112 - $94,733 (full-time equivalent) plus superannuation, dependent on experience. A 4% pay increase is scheduled from July 2026.
Profile
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent industry experience
* Advanced knowledge of accounting software systems
* Strong understanding of bookkeeping and purchase order processes
* Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in Excel
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with staff, management, parents, creditors, and the broader community
* High levels of integrity, discretion, and accountability
* Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
