The City of Karratha is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Site Attendant Operator to join our Waste Services team. This hands-on role plays a key part in keeping our Waste Disposal and Transfer Station facilities running smoothly, providing excellent customer service, and helping to protect our environment through safe, clean, and efficient operations.
About the role:
As a Site Attendant Operator, you'll be the friendly face welcoming customers to the facility, guiding them to the right disposal or recycling areas, and helping them unload when needed. You'll also operate plant and equipment, keep the site safe and tidy, and assist in recycling and resource recovery efforts – all while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
What you'll do:
* Provide outstanding customer service and clear guidance to visitors.
* Operate and maintain plant and equipment safely and efficiently.
* Keep the site clean, organised, and hazard-free.
* Recover reusable and recyclable items for the City's Tip Shop.
* Assist in weighbridge operations and record-keeping.
* Work as part of a supportive team committed to safety and sustainability.
We're looking for someone who:
* Has experience operating heavy plant (tickets highly regarded).
* Is fit and capable of physical work in outdoor conditions.
* Has strong teamwork skills and a professional, approachable manner.
* Holds a current manual HR driver's licence and Police Clearance (no more than 6 months old).
* Ideally has experience in waste management or landfill operations (but we can train the right person).
