Mental Health Clinician (headspace Sarina with Mackay Option)
Location: Sarina and Mackay, QLD

headspace Sarina is a youth service supported by headspace Mackay and run under lead agency North and West Remote Health to deliver services to youth aged 12 – 25 years. We're looking for a passionate, experienced, and dedicated person to join our team
Responsibilities
As a Mental Health Clinician you will:
- Provide psychological interventions and clinical assessments to young people presenting with low-moderate mental health concerns.
- Promote evidence-based clinical practice and support team members in clinical decision-making regarding care provided to young people.
- Collaborate with the Mackay Clinical Lead and Centre Manager to determine appropriate clinical pathways for service users.
- Contribute to the development of early intervention youth mental health services and participate in regular case review meetings to support client care.
- Provide a flexible service model with options for Sarina or Mackay + Sarina work locations as required.
Part-time (0.6 FTE): 3 days per week based in Sarina. Full-time (1.0 FTE): 2 days in Mackay + 3 days in Sarina (supported by the Mackay team).
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Degree-level qualifications in professional counselling, social work or psychology.
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified mental health professional.
- Knowledge of the National Standards for Mental Health Services and ability to support new graduate practitioners towards independent practice.
- Knowledge of Family Systems Theory, Trauma-Informed Care and delivery of systemically informed care to young people and their families.
- Current, unrestricted C class Australian Driver's Licence; right to live and work in Australia.
- Experience providing direct supervision to other team members (desired).
Suitable professions include: Registered Psychologist; Social Worker; Mental Health Nurse; Mental Health Occupational Therapist.
