Electrical HV Project Engineer
A key role for an experienced High Voltage Electrical Project Engineer with Transmission and Substation experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide electrical support to construction and commissioning crews.
* Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive transactions for goods and services.
* Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assign personnel to phases and elements; review bids from contractors.
* Interpret Substation secondary systems.
* Design specifications, documentation, and reports, translating these requirements for site implementation.
* Determine project schedule by studying project plans and specifications; calculate time requirements; sequence project elements.
* Provide technical input into procurement, including support during execution and management of the procurement process to delivery.
* Manage and coordinate subcontractors, including technical support during construction, quality, contracts, claims, variations, audits, etc.
* Estimate budgets, generate proposals, and work within the budget during the project.
* Summarize data and report on test results.
* Proactively identify issues/risks and propose suitable solutions.
About You:
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
* Relevant experience as a Project Engineer on High Voltage construction, particularly Transmission & Substation projects.
* In-depth knowledge of the High Voltage infrastructure industry.
* Understanding of project financial management, forecasting, procurement, design, and contracts management functions.
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work with all levels of stakeholders.
* Working knowledge of engineering codes and safety standards.
* Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external parties (Program teams, stakeholders, etc.).
* Attention to detail.
* A logical and practical approach to work.
* Experience in project management, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
