Who we are looking for:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Medical Secretary to support our surgeon, Dr. Leon Smith.
The ideal candidate will be confident with technology, possess advanced computer skills, and demonstrate the ability to work efficiently by prioritising tasks effectively.
This role requires exceptional organisational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‐paced clinical environment.
You will be working closely with Dr Smith, and the Practice Manager; therefore, strong and effective communication skills are essential.
The duties and responsibilities of this role include but not limited to:
Provide excellent patient care and focus.
Provide effective and efficient support to doctors and help them manage schedules, tasks, and queries.
Liaise with anesthetists, assisting doctors, medical representatives, nurses and hospitals to ensure theatre lists are well managed and coordinated.
Strong communication skills are needed to ensure patients are well-informed about Surgery information and that the hospitals receive Theatre lists promptly.
Theatre bags are well prepared, and instruments are delivered to hospitals accordingly.
Prepare and ensure the clinic runs smoothly.
Explain billing policies, quote and collect surgical fees.
Maintenance of patient records.
Stock management. Liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate stock level.
Assist the reception and secretary team/ practice manager when needed.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Secretary in a Specialist practice.
Be confident with technology, possess advanced computer skills.
Demonstrate the ability to work efficiently
Knowledge of Genie is preferred but not essential.
'Can do' attitude who is highly organised and prides themselves on their attention to detail.
Empathetic and kind nature. Punctual and robust work ethic.
The ability to be flexible, work and liaise effectively with other team members/ practice manager.
